Turning Ag Waste into Profit

Glenn Nafziger is reinventing his waste hauling business - welcome, Glenn says, to the green economy.  With a substantial capital investment, and valuable support from CanAdvance obtained through the Perth Community Futures and Huron Business Development, Perth Environmental now no longer pays to ship waste to Quebec nor does it spray old grease on local bean fields. Instead, it takes waste from area grease traps and separates it into: solids, which are composted; waste water, which is sent through a water treatment plant; and oil. It is this oil which feeds the bottom line.

“I find Jaret and the folks at the Community Futures are extremely knowledgeable, take the time and give valuable business input and feedback.  They took a real interest in our industry and our company, developed valuable knowledge and connections for us and have provided us with business expertise and helped us source grant financing for innovation in Ontario.” says Glenn Nafziger

"Glenn's business makes Southern Ontario a more attractive place to keep or expand your food processing plant.  Having economical solutions for waste disposal gives us a competitive advantage." says Jaret Henhoeffer.
